Friends Fighting Breast Cancer

Life after diagnosis is a changed life. Things that most people take for granted, you no longer can. Every holiday is like Thank you God! I love my birthday. I love everyone's birthday.

Dedicated to finding a cure for breast cancer
and keeping Janet’s spirit alive.

Friends Fighting Breast Cancer is a volunteer group co-founded by Janet Connolly O'Neill and Fran Gilardi. The committee, which consists of 19 volunteers, devotes many hours to this cause while working full-time in their professions.

The group was founded in 1995 to support Janet O'Neill who was battling this disease. In a short period, FFBC earned the respect of many supporters, which allowed the group to continue developing many successful fund-raising events. Massachussetts General Hospital even dedicated space at its cancer center to FFBC in honor of the group's dedication and commitment to breast cancer research.

After fighting breast cancer for nearly 13 years, Janet was surrounded by her loving family when she lost her battle to live on August 30, 2002. Michael O'Neill (Janet's husband) and Fran Gilardi are the present co-chairpersons of the organization.
